No one plans for appliance troubles, so when they do happen, it’s a race to fix the problem quickly and affordably.

Appliance Repair Cost: What To Expect

In California, the average cost for an appliance repair ranges from $100 to $400, with labor rates for technicians around $50 to $150 per hour. These costs can vary significantly based on factors such as the appliance type, the complexity of the repair, the specific parts needed, and expertise of the technician.

Factors Influencing Repair Costs

  • Appliance Type: Different appliances have different repair complexities and part costs. Refrigerators, for example, can be more expensive to fix than dishwashers or ovens.
  • Parts vs. Labor: The total cost includes both the service call/diagnostic fee, the hourly labor rate, and the price of the parts required for the repair.
  • Severity of the Issue: Minor issues, like a thermostat replacement, are generally less expensive than major ones, such as a compressor failure in a refrigerator or a control board replacement.

These are some of the common factors that influence the repair cost in addition to overhead costs, all of which play a factor in the service call and labor fees.

All of this being said, our service call fee is $127. Each additional appliance is $65. This includes the trip to the home and a basic diagnostic. An in-depth evaluation involving partial or full disassembly to identify the root cause of the problem will result in a higher service call fee and will be quoted by the technician during the visit. An estimate including all costs of the repair will be bid by the technician once the diagnosis is made.

Haul Away

For a small fee of $35, our delivery and installation team can haul off your old appliance when we deliver your new one. Recycling appliances is just one more way we reduce the hassle of discarding old appliances while doing our part to keep the world a bit cleaner.
